Fractional in-house counsel
Legal counsel built for companies that run the revenue cycle for others.
Sentinel Advocacy Services works as the in-house legal team for revenue cycle management and business process outsourcing companies. That means healthcare regulatory guidance, client and vendor contracts, contact center compliance and the corporate work that comes with growth, handled by someone who knows how your operation makes money.
Five practice areas, one view of the business
Most RCM and BPO companies spread this work across a large firm, a regulatory boutique and a general practitioner. Keeping it with one counsel means the contract terms, the compliance program and the operations floor stay consistent.
Healthcare law
Regulatory guidance for vendors that touch PHI, claims and provider revenue.
- HIPAA privacy, security and business associate agreements
- Anti-kickback and Stark issues in percentage-based fee models
- No Surprises Act, price transparency and payer rules
- State licensure and billing-agent requirements
Revenue cycle
Counsel for companies handling coding, billing, denials, A/R and patient financial services.
- Coding and billing compliance programs
- Payer audit, recoupment and appeal support
- Patient collections under FDCPA, Reg F and state law
- Credit balance and overpayment procedures
Procurement & contracts
The buy side and the sell side of every deal your company signs.
- Client MSAs, SOWs and pricing schedules
- Responses to health system RFPs and vendor questionnaires
- Technology, AI and subcontractor agreements
- Contract playbooks so sales can move faster
Call centers
Compliance for inbound and outbound patient, payer and customer contact programs.
- TCPA, consent and call recording rules
- Script, text and email review
- PCI DSS and payment handling on calls
- Offshore and nearshore delivery terms
General corporate
Day-to-day in-house work for a company that is scaling.
- Entity formation, governance and board support
- Employment, contractor and non-solicit issues
- Mergers, acquisitions and investor diligence
- Policy libraries and outside counsel management
Not sure where it fits?
Plenty of issues in this industry cross all five areas, like an AI coding tool that touches PHI, pricing and a client contract at once. Those are the questions this practice was built for.

About the founder
Clara E. Bryant, Esq.
Clara E. Bryant is a corporate transactional attorney with more than a decade of practice, most of it spent inside the companies she advises. Her work centers on commercial contracts, vendor management, and the allocation of risk, with a focus on healthcare revenue cycle and business process outsourcing.
As Enterprise Strategy Counsel at Xtend Healthcare, a revenue cycle management company and the healthcare arm of Navient, Clara managed all vendor contracting and vendor-side risk. She drafted and negotiated revenue cycle outsourcing agreements with hospital systems, IT outsourcing and SaaS agreements, federal subcontracting bids, staffing contracts, and offshore data access agreements. She advised on compliance with HIPAA, the FDCPA, GLBA, CCPA, and FERPA, and reviewed vendor security assessments and certifications such as SOC reports, HITRUST, and PCI DSS.
At Vee Healthtek, a healthcare BPO with more than 3,000 offshore staff, Clara was the first in-house attorney and built the legal and compliance function from the ground up. She ran the contracting process for master services agreements, statements of work, business associate agreements, and data security exhibits, and led compliance work under HIPAA and fraud, waste, and abuse laws. Clara currently serves as Assistant General Counsel at Swisslog, a global automation company in the KUKA Group, where she previously was Corporate Counsel for the Americas. There she negotiates customer and supplier agreements that support nine-figure annual sales and advises on employment, licensing, and regulatory matters.
Earlier in her career, Clara ran her own practice advising a physician practice group, a residential real estate developer, and a construction contractor, and spent several years as a litigator, beginning in the Complex Felony Division of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit Public Defender. She holds a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was a Verner F. Chaffin Scholar, and a B.A. in English Literature from Columbia University. She was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2012.
